George Clooney to marry Amal in small but uber-chic wedding

The world’s most eligible bachelor marries the human rights lawyer of his heart’s desire in Venice this weekend after a one-year courtship

Classic all-time hearthrob George Clooney is set to marry British lawyer Amal Alamuddin in Venice this weekend, giving up his status as the world’s most eligible bachelor. The glamorous human rights lawyer will be wearing a Sharah Burton-designed Alexander McQueen wedding gown, choosing the same designer that Kate Middleton had chosen for her own high-profile wedding ceremony. George has turned to Giorgio Armani, who has often dressed him for red carpet occasions.

The Aman Canal Grande Venice hotel is also known as Palazzo Papadopoli as it was acquired by the Papadopoli family in 1864. The Papadopoli brothers, Nicolo and Angelo, moved to Venice from Corfu. Room-rates for the stylish hotel range from 1,000-3,200 pounds per night.
