Berlin: German generosity reached its limit with Greece

“Agreements are meaningful only when one can rely upon them” said the spokesman of the German Ministry, stressing that “we shall not be blackmailed”

Berlin’s attitude towards Greece seems to have taken a more negative turn, based on earlier statements by a German finance ministry spokesman, who said – point blank – that “German generosity reached its limit with Greece”.

Furthermore, the ministry made it clear that “agreements are meaningful only when one can rely upon them … we shall not be blackmailed”.

Furthermore, the same official continued by saying that the EU stands ready to provide additional assistance to Greece, however, the country “has not requested an extension of the Greek program.”
