The Greek National Team will line up with Giannis Antetokounmpo in the Pre-Olympic basketball tournament that will be held on July 2-7 at SEF.
This was revealed by the federal coach Vassilis Spanoulis after Peristeri’s game against Olympiakos at “Andreas Papandreou”. Let’s remember that Giannis Antetokounmpo did not play in the last games of the Milwaukee Bucks in the NBA playoffs, due to injury, and his presence in the games at SEF was extremely doubtful.
“Giannis Antetokounmpo will be in the Pre-Olympics with the Greek National Team,” said Vassilis Spanoulis at the press conference. The NBA ace starts training from Monday to be ready for the start of the National team’s preparation.

Greece are in the same group as the Dominican Republic and Egypt, while Luka Doncic’s Slovenia, New Zealand and Croatia will play in the other group.
The top two will advance to the semi-finals and on July 7 the final will be held which will give a ticket to the Paris Olympics. It is very likely that we will see a final between Antetokounmpo’s Greece and Doncic’s Slovenia.
Greece’s last appearance at the Olympic Games was in 2008 in Beijing.
