Gov’t celebrates for reducing 260,000 pensions

The Greek side said that the changes will affect 10% of current pensioners

Labour Minister Giorgos Katrougalos will table a bill concerning all changes in the social security arguing that he has secured a staff level agreement on all issues, including the issue of supplementary pensions cuts on which until Tuesday morning, though, there was a disagreement between the Greek side and the lenders.

Mr. Katrougalos avoided to refer to any details which indicate this positive development (such as lenders accepting the increase in insurance contributions), reiterating that there is no more room for concessions.

The Greek side said that the changes will affect 10% of current pensioners, i.e. about 260,00 people, while 90% will not suffer any cuts.
