Greece: Threats from the Russian embassy after the deportation of the 12 diplomats: “It will not be left without consequences”

The Russian embassy spoke of “the destruction of bilateral relations”

The Russian embassy in Athens is threatening Greece after the latter’s decision to deport 12 Russian diplomats from the country.

In a statement, the Russian embassy spoke of “the destruction of bilateral relations” while stating that the move will not go unanswered.

Specifically, the Russian embassy in a statement points out that “on April 6, 2022, the Ambassador of Russia to Greece Andrei Maslov was summoned to the Greek Ministry of Foreign Affairs, where he was informed of Athens’ decision to declare 12 diplomats of the Embassy and the Consulate General in Thessaloniki personae non gratae. For our part, we have strongly protested against this unjustified and controversial step aimed at the even further destruction of all our bilateral relations. Greece’s decision to deport 12 diplomats will not be without consequences.”
