Greek elections: How to vote on January 25

Rules for Greek voters who are casting their ballots on Sunday, January 25

9,808,760 registered Greek voters will head to 19,733 booths around the country to vote in the January 25 national elections. Those who will vote in another place to the one where they live need to have registered to do so by October 31, 2014.

Registered voters need to show their state ID or passport (even if it has expired in the case of Greek passports), driving permit or health insurance book. After voting, citizens can receive a written certificate stating that they have exercised their voting right to have documentation of this.

People whose names appear in two lists need to sign a statutory declaration stating their intent to vote at only one of the two polls where they are registered.

Voters who do not find themselves on the list but who are registered on the municipal lists will have the opportunity to ask for a certificate of this from their municipalities so as to exercize their right to vote.
