The former Metropolitan of Aigialeia and Kalavrita performed the ex-communication after launching a fiery speech about the reports that they both mocked the Virgin Mary during the Christmas period (one in an article and the other with a cartoon)

The aphorism of the two was read in front of the image of the Virgin Mary.

During the recent Christmas period, Mosialos had posted a sketch mocking the Virgin Mary, while Homenidis wrote an article in which he claims that the Virgin Mary had an illegal relationship with a Roman soldier and Jesus was the fruit of various meetings she had with young people.
