Greek Tourism Minister sets sights on wealthy Arabs

Greek islands provide luxury that wealthy Shiekhs desire

 

Greek Alternate Tourism Minister Elena Kountoura wrapped up her visit to the United Arab Emirates (UAE) where she promoted Greece as a travel destination both for travel and investment, according to the Greek Travel Pages (GTP). On her visit, she had a series of meetings with government officials and business delegations and gave interviews to media outlets of the country outlinging the objectives of Greek tourism. The Gulf News daily reported that Kountoura said Greece is ready to receive visitors from the UAE and Middle East, noting the fact that UAE nationals no longer need a visa for travel to Greece.

“We are strong supporters of the Schengen visa waiver which the UAE recently achieved,” she said. “The Greek government is offering benefits for those planning to invest in the country’s tourism sector.”

Kountoura says that a UAE business delegation will visit Greece in summer to discuss the possiblity of investment in the country.
