Guidelines for debt settlement in 100 installments published in Government Gazette

Taxpayers who fulfil the requirements can take advantage of the new regulation on Thursday

Taxpayers that owe money for overdue debts to the state and social insurance funds can pay back in 100 installments following a law published in the Government Gazette on Monday paves the way for the implementation of the new law. The payments are to be made electronically through the Finance Ministry’s digital platform through a special application to be made available on Thursday.

The guidelines were issued in a circular by General Secretariat of Public Revenue General Secretary Katerina Savvaidou. The circular stipulates that those that can take advantage of the new regulation should not have debts over one million euros and can’t be used for debts linked to a legal decision from the Bankruptcy Code.

REGULATION

Taxpayers don’t need to go to their tax office in order to set the regulation in motion as everything can be done through the gsis.gr platform as is the case with tax statements.

The first installment should be paid within thre edays from the date of submission and the following installments will be made on the last working day of every month until it is paid off.
