Huge rescue operation underway after migrant boat capsizes off Crete

A boat carrying 600-700 migrants was capsized within Egypt’s FIR

A massive search and rescue operation is underway off the coast of Kaloi Limenes, Crete.

According to information, a boat carrying 600-700 migrants was capsized about 70 nautical miles south of Crete within Egypt’s FIR.

Egypt controls the search and rescue operation, while Greece has joined forces. Four ships which were sailing in the area, vessels and one aircraft of the Coast Guard, as well as one super puma of air force are participating in the rescue operation.
