Government Vice President and Foreign Minister Evangelos Venizelos will address the Informal Meeting of EU Ministers for General Affairs which will be held at the Zappeion Megaron in Athens on May 30.

The Informal General Affairs Council (GAC) will be chaired by Venizelos and Deputy Foreign Minister Dimitris Kourkoulas, according to a Foreign Ministry statement.

The two-session meeting will focus on “The perspective of an Inter-Institutional Agreement on the relations between the Council, the EP and the Commission: content & procedures” and on “The issue of strengthening the GAC’s role in EU policy making: ensuring its effectiveness and its function as a forum of political dialogue”.

After the end of the meeting, Mr Kourkoulas will give a press conference.
