Iraklio: British national arrested for photographing young girls at the beach

According to the British national’s lawyer, his client was photographing randomly people on the beaches.

A 52-year-old British national was arrested on Monday at the Hersonissos area Iraklio, Crete, after being accused by a father of taking photographs of his young daughter playing at the beach.

The prosecutor in Iraklio launched criminal proceedings on charges of child pornography and violation of personal data against the man, who was granted an extension for his deposition to Thursday morning.

According to the British national’s lawyer, his client was photographing randomly people on the beaches. He had been planning to leave for the UK on Tuesday.
