Sally Brown, 48, claims her pet cat Henry is the oldest cat in the world. According to the Norwich resident, her feline friend is 30 years old, 4 years older than the officially recognised 26 year old cat named Cordury from Oregon in the United States. ‘I am certain she is the oldest cat in the world. She might shed her fur, not have all her teeth, but she has never fallen ill’, says Sally. Sally took Henry from a cat shelter in Cambridge in 1986. Now the Norwich woman has to prove her claims before her cat can take the honour away from Cordury. Cats tend to live an average of 15 years, with a Texan cat named Creme Puff, which died in 1967, still holding the world record of longevity with 38 years.
