Italian President: ‘Possibility of Grexit shouldn’t even be taken into account’

On Tuesday Sergio Mattarella met with European Parliament President Martin Schulz

Following Tuesday’s meeting between Italian President Sergio Mattarella and European Parliament President Martin Schulz, the former stated that “the possibility of Grexit shouldn’t even be taken into account”.

Mattarella also stressed that it seems paradoxical for the Eurozone, one of the most important achievements of post-war Europe, to be considered as an obstacle.

Furthermore, the Italian president commented on developments in Libya and on the constant arrivals of illegal migrants targeting southern Italy.
