Kissing protest in response to Ambrosios homophobic statements outside Athens Cathedral

A protest is being organized at noon on December 22

The Greek homosexual community are responding to the negative blog post against them by Greek Orthodox Bishop Ambrosios Kalavryta and Aigialeia with a kissing protest outside Athens cathedral (Mitropoli). The high-level church representative had called on people to “spit” and “blacken” gays and atheists with violence, stating that they are “freaks of nature”, “scum” and “faulty”.

Rather than make a statement condemning Bishop Ambrosios, the community are gathering outside the church to engaged in same-sex kissing. The kissing activists are members of Queerborg that supports the rights of the LGBT community. The group has called for a gathering outside the Athens Metropolis at noon on December 22.
