Kostis Karamanlis, another member of the Karamanlis family clan is running for elections with the conservative New Democracy (ND) party that his family has given its stigma to. The son of Achilles Karamanlis, and cousin of the former prime minister Kostas Karamanlis is running as a candidate for the area of Serres in Macedonia, Greece.

Amid feverish preparations, his political office found a dated photograph featuring the young Kostis Karamanlis, with the great statesman who was a towering figure of Greek politics for much of the latter half of the 20th century.

“While working on the final details for our campaign site with my colleagues, we found this photo in our archives,” he said  in a facebook post.
