Russia is ready for a second round of talks with Ukraine, according to statements made by Sergei Lavrov on Wednesday.
“However, for the time being, Kyiv is moving according to Washington’s instructions”, the Russian foreign minister said in an interview with Al Jazeera.
Lavrov maintained the issue of nuclear weapons, saying that “World War III can be nuclear and catastrophic”.
He continued: “US President (Joe) Biden is an experienced man and has stated in the past that the only alternative to sanctions … is world war”.
Regarding the Russian operation in Ukraine, he said: “The military operation in Ukraine, including Kiev, is aimed at disarming Ukraine. Russia will not allow Ukraine to acquire nuclear weapons”.
