Marathon-long meet under PM Tsipras on approaching deal

It went on for several hours

Negotiations on the conclusion of a deal between government and lenders are at a fever pitch. The team of political negotiations met under PM Tsipras between12 at noon today and for eight hours, in order to evaluate the latest developments and study new data arriving from the technical teams’ negotiations. The Greek side states it is feeling confident that a deal will be reached in the next few days, after the sudden change of climate in Brussels.

 

The PM, fueled by Chancellor Merkel’s reassurance that a deal was forthcoming, wants to close any and all open ends until the meeting on Monday, between Jean Claude Juncker, Angela Merkel and Francois Hollande.

 

At the same time, technical teams are also working feverishly in Brussels.
