Merkel visited New Zealand and met Kiwi birds

Before the G20 Australian summit

In Auckland, New Zealand, Angela Merkel came in touch with nature…

Before she attended the G20 summit in Brisbane, Australia, Germany’s Iron Lady was accompanied by New Zealand’s PM to a zoo, where she petted a little Kiwi bird.

Wearing a blue jacket and a white shirt, Merkel ignored meteorologists’ warnings which foresaw a heatwave at 39 degrees Celsius.

According to “Bild” newspaper, a three-month-old female Kiwi bird was what piqued frau Merkel’s interest. Little “Whau Whau”, as is the Kiwi bird’s name, weighs only 500 grams.

The educator in the zoo explained to the German chancellor that Kiwi birds are flightless.
