With fast progress and within the schedule, work continues on the implementation of the new Patras-Pyrgos Highway Axis, a construction site visited by Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis this afternoon in Vrachneika, Achaia.

“The progress compared to the previous time is impressive,” noted the Prime Minister, who was briefed by Deputy Ministers of Infrastructure and Transport, Nikos Tachiaos and Christina Alexopoulou, and the CEO of the AVAX Group, Konstantinos Mitzalis, on the progress of the works. Additionally, within the framework of the Concession Agreement, flood prevention projects and projects to enhance bridges and underpasses are being constructed. Furthermore, works to upgrade road safety on the existing Patras-Pyrgos road have already been completed, until the construction of the new highway is finished. The state-of-the-art highway will contribute to road safety and shorten the route to and from Pyrgos and Ancient Olympia, as well as to the broader development of Western Peloponnese.
