Mayoral Candidate of Piraeus Yannis Moralis and alderman candidate Vangelis Marinakis met with president and CEO of the PPA (Piraeus Port Authority), Mr. George Anomeritis on Thursday.

Mr. Anomeritis presented the issues the harbor faced. After the meeting’s end, Mr. Moralis stated: “We had a detailed briefing on all the issues and there was a convergence of views on three basic points to be depicted in our program: Firstly, the development of the city is inseparably connected to the development of the port, secondly, that the Hellenic port system should follow the European port system, which means that shares should remain in the state, in government and in commerce chambers and thirdly, that concessions for use must be made for many different private individuals” He added that: “This was our stance since the beginning. We renewed our date for a new meeting since the issues are many and complex”.
