During a press conference following his contacts in Athens, the Commissioner of Finance Pierre Moskovici stated that” My message to the Greek authorities was that Greece must show commitment to reforms”.

Mr. Moskovici made clear that there is no question about Greece leaving the euro, since “”Greece needs the euro and the eurozone needs Greece”, while he also stressed that if Greece did not have the support of the EU in all of its problems then the country would have collapsed”.

” I am aware that the crisis has a cost, but Europe is not to blame, quit the opposite in fact, has helped”.

There is progress, but more is required, stressed Mr. Moskovici and added that “Our approach is friendly, but … decisive”.
