MPs of New Democracy react on the amendment which restores the wages of judicial employees

Elias Vlahogiannis, Dimitris Kyriazidis, Iordanis Tzamtzis, Pavlos Vogiatzis and Theodoros Soldatos have sent a letter warning that they would not vote for this amendment

The discussion on the “Principles of Financial Management and Supervision” bill begun with an obvious dissatisfaction shown by many MPs of the New Democracy. The bill in question concerns the restore of the salaries of judicial employees at pre-crisis level.

Elias Vlahogiannis, Dimitris Kyriazidis, Iordanis Tzamtzis, Pavlos Vogiatzis and Theodoros Soldatos have sent a letter warning that they would not vote for this amendment, if it is not accompanied by a similar provision for the wages recovery of uniformed officers.

In fact, the MPs do not react on restoring the wages of judicial employees, but they point out that by failing to comply with other judicial decisions concerning other sectors, the government creates social injustices.

Mr Andreas Lykourentzos said on the subject that “we cannot exclude a sector” arguing that this might create social rivalries. However, he noted, that it is too difficult to meet the judicial decisions, because there are no resources.

According to information, the deputy finance minister Christos Staikouras will make a political statement with which he will be committed to proceed immediately to restore the wages of the uniformed officers.
