ND leader Samaras: Govt satisfies the demands of rioters; fills streets with migrants

“Which other country in the world provides asylum for law-breaking in universities?” Samaras asked

Main opposition New Democracy leader Antonis Samaras lashed out at the government on Friday strongly criticizing an education reform bill that was unveiled on Thursday.

According to the ND leader, the new bill aims to restore university asylum laws that prevent effective policing, will allow so-called “eternal” students to drag out their studies for decades and to abolish evaluation and excellence.

Accusing the government of satisfying the demands of balaclava-clad rioters, anti-state militants and terrorists and filling the streets with undocumented migrants, Samaras underlined that the reforms introduced by his government were passed with a maximum political consensus.

“Which other country in the world provides asylum for law-breaking in universities? Which other country frowns upon the evaluation of teaching staff? In which other country are the anarchists allowed to burn universities and the centre of the city at will,” Samaras asks in his written statement, adding that his government tried to “take the country to the same place as the other developed nations in the world.”
