Death toll keeps rising in Nepal

An earthquake measuring 7.8 Richter shook Nepal between the capital Kathmandu and the city of Pokhara in tremors felt as far as Pakistan, Bangladesh and India. A national police spokesman said that 700 people had been killed across the country, rescuers are digging through the rubble of collapsed buildings trying to reach survivors, estimated to number hundreds. Numerous historic buildings have been destroyed.
