No cabinet reshuffle is scheduled, says gov’t spokesperson

She insisted that the fiscal correction mechanism demanded by Greece’s lenders will not need to be activated

Government’s spokesperson Olga Gerovasili stated that the prime minister has not decided whether and when he will proceed to a cabinet reshuffle.

In an interview with Stigma Radio 97.6, she also predicted that there will be an agreement on concluding the review of Greece’s program on May 24.

Mrs. Gerovasili insisted that the fiscal correction mechanism demanded by Greece’s lenders will not need to be activated and that the measures now being voted on and implemented were not new measures but those agreed in July last year.

“I remind you that this agreement also got the approval of the Greek people, in September,” she stressed, admitting though that “none of it was pleasant after six years of austerity and overtaxation.”
