While most Greeks were sleeping another dawn roll call vote saw a second set of painful prior actions passed through

The multi-bill on the second set of prior actions Greece needs to complete in order to receive the first part of its bailout loan passed in Parliament early on Friday morning with the votes of the coalition government of the Radical Left Coalition (SYRIZA) and junior member Independent Greeks (ANEL). The rest of the parties voted against it.

The bill passed with 153 votes in favor, and 117 votes against by the main opposition conservative New Democracy (ND) party, ultra-nationalist Golden Dawn, the Democratic Coalition, the Communist Party of Greece (KKE) and the Union of Centrists. Centrist Potami (River), which holds 9 votes in Parliament, voted “present”.

The ND party called for a roll-call vote on nine articles.  All of them eventually passed, as did the amendments, which were incorporated in the bill.
