Parliament Budget Office and Economic Chamber of Greece to sign cooperation memorandum

The cooperation memorandum aims to act in a supplementary and advisory fashion to the finance ministry’s central administration

The Economic Chamber of Greece, a public-sector entity supervised by the finance ministry, on Tuesday announced plans for the imminent signature of an agreement with the Parliament Budget Office linked to monitoring the execution of the state budget and economic policy, as well as providing expert advice and recommendations.

The cooperation memorandum to be signed aims to act in a supplementary and advisory fashion to the finance ministry’s central administration, providing targeted reports and interventions.

The plans for the agreement were also confirmed by Parliament President Evangelos Meimarakis and the chamber president Konstantinos Kollias in a meeting held in Parliament.

Meimarakis also promised to arrange a meeting between the presidiums of the chamber and Parliament when the new winter session of Parliament begins, ensuring that the chambers is able to participate in committee meetings on issues relevant to its brief.
