A picturesque town in the regional unit of Preveza, Epirus, northwestern Greece. Its most dominant feature is a castle on the hilltop overlooking the town, built by the residents to protect their town from pirates and Turks in the 11th century. The castle has been demolished by Turks and rebuilt by Venetians.
