Poppies bloom in the ruins on Armistice Day

At the eleventh hour of the eleventh day of the eleventh month

Armistice Day is commemorated every year at the eleventh hour of the eleventh day of the eleventh month to mark the armistice signed by the Allies of World War I and Germany at Compiegne France for the cessation of hostilities in World War I.  Typically it is marked by red poppies that symbolize the blood of soaked to the ground. In Greece, poppies traditionally bloom in Easter and symbolize the blood of Christ.
