PM A. Tsipras responds to Die Welt’s publications in ERT interview

The Greek PM will respond to claims that Greece lacks governance at 9.45 p.m. on Monday

Radical Left Coalition (SYRIZA) Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras is giving an interview to public broadcaster ERT at 9.45 p.m. on Monday to discuss the “dark clouds” gathering over the relations between the government and creditors from the EC, ECB, ESM and IMF. Differences between the two sides are due to the demands of Greece’s lenders, especially concerning social security but also regard doubts of Greece’s political ability to stabilize the country according to German reports.

During the debate in Greek Parliament on Saturday, Tsipras said that there may be a need for more clashes. By many, this was viewed as a message to lenders. The government feels that their demands are extreme, especially in regards to pension slashes.

German newspaper Die Welt quoted European negotiating sources that believe that the review may need to take place at the start of next summer, whereas they refered to Greece as being “practically ungoverned.” The government believes that a climate of failure and an image of political imbalance is purposely being created so that harsher measures can be put through and so that the left can just be a brief “parenthesis” in Greece.
