PM Mitsotakis calls on Erdogan to take a stance on a ‘delusional’ map showing Crete and Rhodes Turkish by his partner Bahceli

"Take a good look at this map. Crete, Rhodes, Lesvos, Chios, Samos all consumed by Turkey", the Greek PM tweeted

Newsroom July 11 01:36

Greek PM Kyriakos Mitsotakis posted a tweet on the provocative map presented by top Turkish politicians showing Crete, among other Greek islands as part of Turkey.

“Take a good look at this map. Crete, Rhodes, Lesvos, Chios, Samos all consumed by Turkey. Α fever dream of extremists or Turkey’s official policy? Another provocation or the true goal?”, the PM tweeted.

The unprecedented map of the ultra-nationalist party “Grey Wolves”, a coalition partner with President Erdogan in the Turkish government, was presented to Recep Tayyip Erdogan’s political partner, Devlet Bahceli.

As the Greek Prime Minister writes on Twitter in his post which is also in English in order to internationalize the challenges: “Take a good look at this map. Crete, Rhodes, Lesvos, Chios, Samos are ‘consumed’ by Turkey. Extremists’ delusion or Turkey’s official policy? Another challenge or a true goal? President Erdogan needs to make his position clear on his coalition partner’s latest antics.”
