Israeli authorities have information that the suspect is mentally ill

Israeli authorities are still searching for the suspect of the bloody attack in Tel Aviv. According to the newspaper “Jerusalem Post”, the authorities are seeking the 28-year-old gunman who opened fire at a bar in Tel Aviv killing two and wounding eight people.

Regarding the suspect’s motive, Israeli authorities have not ruled out the possibility of a terrorist attack, according information, the suspect is mentally ill.

According to the Israeli newspaper, authorities have questioned the suspect’s father who contacted police when he recognized his son when he was watching the video of the attack on TV. The father told police that he had received an anonymous phone call from a man who told him to search the house and see if the weapon he had as a security man in an insurance company was there. He did search the house and found the gun but then he realized that the man might have been his son. Yesterday afternoon, according to Israeli police, suspect’s Facebook page was deleted.

The lawyer of the suspect’s family said to Israeli media that the suspect is mentally ill and has not any connection with the Islamic State.
