Political rival to Tsipras: Go to Lesvos or Kos and explain your policy on migration issue

Centrist Potami party leader Stavros Theodorakis also takes radical leftist Tsipras to task for “internationalist” view of … no sea borders

The leader of the centrist Potami party on Monday launched in a sharp attack against Alexis Tsipras, who resigned last month and called snap elections in the recession-plagued country.
“Tsipras promised everything to everyone, and now he’s calling us populists,” Theodorakis told a campaign rally in central Athens, adding that radical leftist SYRIZA’s policy on the migration issue has been “criminal” and merely feeds the ultra-nationalist Golden Dawn party.
“SYRIZA criminal policy on the migration issue and its undetectable ministers all of the past months (politically) fed Golden Dawn. We call on Mr. Tsipras to visit Mytilene (Lesvos) or Kos, to see reality up close and explain to the islanders why his government failed to do any of the things requested by the EU, the UNHCR and, of course, Potami.”
Theodorakis, a noted television news affairs presenter, closed with thinly disguised ridicule over Tsipras’ most recent statement that there are “no sea borders”, i.e. in the Aegean.
“We don’t want to comment. There must be some mistake. A former prime minister cannot be so inept,” he said.
