In the wake of the OPEKEPE case, Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis announced on Monday a proposal that ministers should no longer simultaneously serve as members of Parliament after the 2027 elections. Under his plan, any minister serving in the Cabinet would be temporarily replaced in Parliament by the first runner-up, while efforts would be made to strengthen the role of MPs
