Public transport work stoppages announced by unions

24-hour strike re-scheduled for July 6

The workers’ union at the tram, metro and the train have announced a new work stoppage protesting against the planned inclusion of the public means of transport in the new privatisation fund. The industrial action will last from 10pm till the end of their shift on Tuesday. Meanwhile, after the decision by the Asset Development Fund extend the time period for binding tenders for the train services (TRAINOSE) and the railway maintenance company (EESSTY) the worker’s union decided to suspend their scheduled 24-hour strike for Tuesday, June 21 and move it on July 7. Passengers should be reminded that employees at the regional railway and trains will be having stoppages from 5am till 8am, from 1pm till 4pm, and from 9pm till midnight.
