Reception of St. Nectarios’ Right Hand in Scandinavia (dates for veneration)

The film Man of God will be screened at the St. George Cathedral of Stockholm

The Holy Metropolis of Sweden and All Scandinavia informs the flock of the Mother Church in Scandinavia that will have the blessing of receiving the right hand of the miracle-working and widely revered St. Nectarios of Pentapolis from the Sacred Convent of the Holy Trinity in Aegina.
Specifically, the reception of the saint’s right hand will take place on Thursday, September 1st, 2022, at 10 a.m, at the Annunciation of the Theotokos Metropolitan Church in Oslo, on Friday, September 2nd, 2022, at 7 p.m., at the St. Paul the Apostle Church in Uppsala and on Saturday, September 3rd, 2022, at 10 a.m., at the St. George Cathedral in Stockholm.
On September 3rd, the day of the feast of the translation of St. Nectarios’ holy relics, a screening of the film Man of God will take place at the premises of the St. George Cathedral of Stockholm, at 8 p.m., with director Mrs. Yelena Popovic in attendance.

Thursday, 1 September 2022
10 a.m. Reception of the Right Hand of St. Nectarios of Pentapolis by His Eminence Metropolitan Cleopas of Sweden at the Metropolitan Church of the Annunciation of the Theotokos in Oslo (Τhor Olsens gate 9, 0177 Oslo). Divine Liturgy for the beginning of the Indiction and blessing of the water officiated by Metropolitan Cleopas.
6 p.m. Holy Unction & Supplication to St. Nectarios. Speaker: V. Rev. Archimandrite Fr. Damaskinos Mourtzis

Festal Archieratical Vespers for the translation of the holy relics of St. Nectarios of Pentapolis, officiated by Metropolitan Cleopas, who will be joined by members of the holy clergy. Speaker: V. Rev. Archimandrite Fr. Alexander Loukatos.

Saturday, 3 September 2022
10 a.m. Reception of the Right Hand of St. Nectarios of Pentapolis by His Eminence Metropolitan Cleopas of Sweden and Archieratical Divine Liturgy at the St. George Cathedral of Stockholm (Birger Jarlsgatan 92, 114 20 Stockholm), presided over by Metropolitan Cleopas, who will be joined by members of the holy clergy. Speaker: V. Rev. Archimandrite Fr. Sosipatros Stefanoudis.
5 p.m. Holy Unction, Great Vespers, and Supplication to St. Nectarios, officiated by Metropolitan Cleopas.
8 p.m. Screening of the film Man of God in the Cathedral hall. Remarks by Metropolitan Cleopas and the film’s director Mrs. Yelena Popovic.

Sunday, 4 September 2022
9 a.m. Matins. 10 a.m. Divine Liturgy at the Cathedral, officiated by His Eminence Metropolitan Cleopas of Sweden, who will be joined by members of the holy clergy. Speaker: V. Rev. Archimandrite Fr. Damaskinos Mourtzis.
6–10 p.m. Vigil dedicated to the 69th anniversary of the translation of the holy relics of St. Nectarios, presided over by His Eminence Metropolitan Cleopas of Sweden, who will be assisted by members of the holy clergy. Speaker: V. Rev. Archimandrite Fr. Bartholomew Iatridis.
