The Russian Ministry of Emergency Situations made the announcement

Russian Emergency Situations Minister Yevgeny Zinichev was killed in an attempt to save one person.

In a statement, the Russian Ministry states:

“The Russian Ministry of Emergency Situations informs that Yevgeny Zinichev died tragically while on duty, as he was trying to save the life of a person in the interdepartmental exercises for the protection of the Arctic zone from emergencies”.
