Russian court fines Google for ‘misinformation’ and ‘pro-LGBTQI+ propaganda’

Google was fined 35,180 euros

A Russian court today fined Google 35,180 euros for failing to remove content about Russia’s military operation in Ukraine and what it called “propaganda in favour of the LGBTQI+ community,” Interfax news agency reported.

Over the past year, Moscow has imposed dozens of fines against Western technology companies based on new censorship laws passed after Russia’s invasion of Ukraine in February 2022.
