Skopje in turmoil – Fears of more violence

In view of an opposition march planned for May 17th

Skopje is in turmoil after the Kumanovo clashes which cost the lives of 22 people. Political analysts express fears of a resurgence of violence in view of the 17th of May march which the opposition party has organized.

Nobody knows who caused the Kumanovo massacre, where Albanian-speakers clashed with government forces. Skopje  states that they were Albanians from Kosovo and Albania, while others estimate that they were Albanians living in the country.
