Street violence outside Parliament as crucial bailout vote debate begins

Scenes reminiscent of past

Scenes of balaclava-wearing youths lobbing firebombs at riot police were again seen outside Greek Parliament in central Athens on Wednesday, coinciding with the crucial vote to pass an agreement worked out between the SYRIZA government and creditors just days ago.

A protest march of around 500 people, described as expressing the so-called “anti-state” and “anarchist” political spectrum, first approached Parliament and joined up with other groups protesting against the draft bill.
