Susan Sarandon: I take drugs and yes I was dating Bowie

In an interview … one of Hollywood’s nicest sexagenarians speaks for all the crazy things of her life …

At 67 she is terribly sexy and seem to have won the fight against time. Without having lots of cosmetic done Susan Sarandon is one of the sexiest older women with fabulous legs.

She goes out with thirty something year olds , has liberal views and is in no way a typical sexagenarian. Her latest film is directed by Richard Glatzer and is entitled «The Last of Robin Hood» and Sarandon plays Florence Aadland, the mother of Beverly (Dakota Fanning)-a 15 year old who falls madly in love with 48year old Erol Flynn who plays the Kevin Kline based on a true story of the last days of actor Erol Flynn.

In the online magazine The Daily Best Sarandon reveals of going to strange festival in the Nevada desert (talking specifically about the Burning Man Festival) and that psychotropic drugs “play” in such environments. “It’s quite psychedelic on its own and many do drugs, but I’m not new to the idea of” mushrooms “for example. I do not like chemicals, of course. Timothy Leary was my friend, so that LSD was pure and good, but generally I am not looking synthetic drugs, and I do not like speed. But I do Ayahuasca (a drink that Amazon creates hallucinations) and mushrooms and such natural things. But I like all of them in nature, not in the city. My position on marijuana is “not to do if you have to pretend that you’re not stoned”, in other words I would never do drugs and take care of my children. I’d only smoke it at the Gran Canyon or somewhere else where you realize how small you are in the universe. Steve Jobs said once that getting LSD was one of the greatest experiences of his life. ”

When the reporter asks about the legalization of small quantities of marijuana in New York, the actress replied: “I believe that marijuana will soon be legalized everywhere and everything will change. If people leave alcohol things will be better. Marijuana does not become aggressive. It doesn’t make you beat your wife or make you drive like crazy and definitely not get into fights. There has been no death from marijuana, “she explains.  “But the law should deal with these substances in quantities checks etc.” she concludes.

Then, the journalist asks: “Have you ever had relationships with older men?”

“Yes, with Louis Malle we had fifteen years age gap. He was French and had a farm of truffles, he was generally different from me and that was precious. But compared with other stars, I got married at twenty-something (her first husband Chris Sarandon) so was not looking around. OK, I also had famous men, a rock star and also an actor but I didn’t do crazy things between my two marriages. I’m the monogamous type. ”
Of course the reporter asks who was the rock star and Sarandon replied “ David Bowie. Amazing. A real image. Very interesting period of my life. ”
Her new movie Last Days of Robin Hood will come to Greece in autumn
