Syrian ‘Hannibal’ chopped up his compatriot

The dismembered their compatriot after he paid them 4,000 euros for forged documents

A Syrian detainee at Trikala prison, aged 32, and his compatriot, aged 22, being sought by the police face murder charges after killing a 27-year-old Syrian (pictured) in Athens. The victim’s body parts were found in a dumpster in Kallithea, south of the Athens center.

It is believed that the suspects killed and dismembered their victim two years ago after he paid them 4,000 euros to deliver forged documents so that he could travel to Sweden. Investigations began in January 2014 when a man scrounging through garbage found human body parts. The police linked these to other human body parts found stuffed in a backpack at a Center for Recycled Materials at Aspropyrgo, west of Athens.
