SYRIZA: Recruiting Glezos to exit the party crisis

The historical member is in the ballot – Turkophile Dimitris Christopoulos to remain

By recruiting Manolis Glezos, who will be a MEP candidate, SYRIZA is trying to exceed the great crisis which has occurred around its options for the European Parliament Member candidates.

During a tense meeting of the Political Secretariat of the party, during which Alexis Tsipras was absent, it was decided that there will be “mindful moves in order to proceed with efforts to stop introspection and go for a turn towards addressing the problems of the people and fiscal matters, since the medium-term program and a new Memorandum are on the way, according to the party”.

Despite the noise that the statements of Professor and MEP candidate Dimitris Christopoulos made, the Secretariat declined to consider the wish of many, to terminate his inclusion into the ballot.

The issue is likely to return during Friday’s meeting, with Mr. Tsipras being present.
