Piraeus turned into a battlefield when incidents broke out between Syrian refugees and Afghan immigrants

While the refugee flow from Turkey to the Greek islands continues, the refugees and immigrants throughout Greece protest against the EU-Turkey agreement and the closed borders.

51,393 refugees and immigrants are currently in Greece, according to the refugee crisis management coordination body, with 5.337 of them being stuck at the Greek islands.

Last night, Piraeus turned into a battlefield when incidents broke out between Syrian refugees and Afghan immigrants. The fight started at E1 gate, when Afghans attacked a woman from Syria. Her family rushed to defend her and soon things went out of control. For almost three hours, hundreds of people were fighting using sticks and rocks, while at least seven people were injured.

Tension prevails in Idomeni, too, where more than 11,000 people are stuck. Yesterday, an incident broke out, while as it is seen in the photos, one man holding a knife quarrels with another refugee.
