The Alphabet Road event comes to Greece

A Gala dinner is scheduled to take place at Acropolis Museum where the first Elissa/Didon award will be handed to 4 distinguished women

The League of Canaanite, Phoenician and Punic cities (LCCPP) based in Paris, Beirut and Washington organize for the first time in Greece the 5th Mediterranean Forum, Forum V “The Alphabet Road”, under the auspices of the Ministry of Culture and Sport and the Hellenic National Commission for UNESCO.

The event will take place on 11-12 October and include lectures on the mysteries s of Phoenician culture, whereas participants will the chance to visit significant sites and museums to learn about ancient Mediterranean civilizations.

Following the end of lectures, a Gala dinner is scheduled to take place at Acropolis Museum. During the dinner, the Elissa/Didon award will be handed for the first time to 4 distinguished women honouring their major contribution in various fields .

The Elissa/Didon Award was established on 25 June 2014  for the advancement of women status in the Mediterranean, especially in the Canaanite, Phoenician and Punic Cities of the League.

The Prize is intended to honor significant contribution of a female personality or an organization, working to strengthen equal opportunities and affirmation of the role of women acting in various fields: cultural, political, social, economic, scientific, democracy and human rights defense, dialogue promotion and cooperation as the basis of relationship between nations in the Mediterranean countries.

The four winners of the award are:

– Lady Yvonne Cochrane (Lebanon) in recognition of her commitment to safeguarding the Lebanese Heritage

– Mrs. Rodi Kratsa (Greece) in recognition of her support for the promotion of women in the Mediterranean

– Mrs. Chérifa Kheddar (Algeria) in recognition of her fight against family violence

– Mrs. Souhair Belhassen (Tunisia) in recognition of her engagement in Human Rights issues

Moreover, a sailboat a cruise is organized to Greek / Phoenician ports.
