Greece is overwhelmed by thousands of exhausted refugees and immigrants who continue arriving in Greece, while the government remains passive without being able to provide them even food.

Therefore, volunteers, non-governmental organizations and municipalities are trying to cover the basic needs of those people.

In this framework, a delegation of the Holy Synod, President of Central Union of Municipalities of Greece (KEDE) and Athens Medical Association Giorgos Patoulis, Piraeus mayor Yannis Moralis, UNESCO Goodwill Ambassador Marianna Vardinoyiannis and the famous Greek singer Sakis Rouvas visited Piraeus port to distribute basic supplies, such as food and medicines, to the refugees and immigrants who have been staying in the terminals of Piraeus port for days.
