The disagreement between Loverdos and Mitsotakis goes on

Mr Loverdos wants the temporary laid-off university administrators to return to their positions

Prime Minister attempts to restore calm in the government and has started a series of meetings with the new and old ministers to set the objectives and priorities.

The most important issue is the disagreement between the Minister of Education Andreas Loverdos and the Minister of Administrative Reform Kyriakos Mistotakis. The first one wants the temporary laid-off university administrators to return to their positions, whereas the latter one says that the government must follow what agreed and issued an announcement stating ironically that a few days extension was given so as the new Minister of Education could be informed.

According to information, under the pressure created by the requirement of Mr Loverdos, Mr Venizelos intends to raise an issue asking to review the policy of redundancies in the public sector, even though the government has already committed to Troika that the lay-offs will be completed.

On Saturday morning, though, the Minister of Education appeared more calm, making clear that he would not put the country in danger and they would “find a solution”.
