The Germans are back in Greece!

Opodo, a German online travel agency, says German travelers are regaining their trust in Greece as the country’s economy improves

German tourism over recent years had dropped due to resentment caused by negative reaction as a result to the economic crisis. As Greece slowly exits from the recession and the austerity measures continue, German travelers are slowly becoming more trustful of Greece and are making a comeback to the islands where they were once permanent fixtures, reports Opodo, a German online travel agency.

The four Greek destinations that are among the 20 most popular tourist hotspots for German travelers are Crete (fourth place), Rhodes (sixth place), Kos (17th place) and Corfu (20th place). Other prefered German travel destinations include Mallorca (top spot) and Antalya in Turkey as well as the Canary Islands.

German travel online agency, Opodo, reports that the main drawcard for German travelers is value-for-money quality. “Due to the economic recovery and the security and political stability in recent years, travelers trust the country again,” sais Opodo’s Public Relations Chief Bettina Lemessier.
