The New Democracy party celebrates its 40-year anniversary

Prime Minister Antonis Samaras is addressing an event on the 40th anniversary since the establishment of the conservative New Democracy party on Friday afternoon at Kallithea, Halkidiki. Following this event, he is going to dine with ministers, deputies and members of the party.

More anniversary celebrations are to follow on Saturday afternoon, with Mr. Samaras scheduled to be a keynote speaker at an event on the 40th anniversary from the founding of the liberal party. The event is taking place at the Athos Palace Hotel, the same hotel where the party’s founder Constantinos Karamanlis had organized the party’s pre-congress in 1977 and the same venue for the first ND congress in 1979.
